Support New School For 200 Autistic Children
This project will provide a school for autistic children. Children with disabilities are among the most vulnerable populations in rural and urban Vietnam. As many families in Vietnam live below the poverty line, the additional costs of specialized care are considerably high. Children with disabilities are the least likely to attend school and the lack of financial assistance, and access to medical services from the government all contribute to their exclusion
Vietnam does not include autism in its disability law, so autistic children receive little support from the government, many autistic and handicapped children have never attended special needs school or special-needs programs. There is a need for real action to protect this vulnerable group. If autistic children cannot receive necessary support, they will meet more serious social problems as the children may take actions that harm themselves and other people. (The figure is 500,000 in Vietnam)
Special Needs Programs provides children with disabilities access to education, health and rehabilitation services and a shared educational and recreational space that contributes to individual empowerment and supports them to build a better life through proper education and training Through the Special Needs Education Programmers. We cooperate with many specialist organizations to bring early intervention and other physical/mental support to enhance the abilities of children.
I have only about 40 students while I have a long list of more than 60 autistic children waiting for kindergarten level, and over 1000 children at the elementary level this is only a stage one of an ongoing project to raise awareness and expand this project throughout the rule and urban areas . Many parents told me that they were suffering from depression and had to be treated for a long time. There were many people who wanted to commit suicide, because there are not enough schools
